CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Since Poplar Middle School believes in students growing, developing and bonding outside
of the classroom, there are a variety of activities available for all types of interests.

INDIAN CLUB

ADVISOR: Mr. Jacob Turcotte

BUFFALO CALF PEOPLE Indian Club is an organization for students dedicated to learning about and practicing cultural traditions.

OVERVIEW

  • 7th-8th Grade Students

  • Meetings on Fridays 1PM-3PM

  • Assiniboine & Sioux Culture will be a focus.

  • Community Service will also be a focus.  (Lawn mowers, weed eaters, shovels and other equipment have been purchased in order to complete community service.)

  • 20 hours of community = Students will receive a Nike N7 Backpack.

  • 40 hours of community = Students will receive Nike N7 Jacket.

ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE

Poplar MS students and staff are called to collect donations of canned goods, dry goods, non-perishables and toiletries to be distributed to families in need here in Poplar.  Donations will be accepted November 9 to December 4. Contact Mr. Turcotte for more information

STUDENT COUNCIL

ADVISORS: Sheryl Kohl and Christine Grindstaff

Student Council is a group of elected and volunteer students working together with an adult advisor.  Within the framework of a student government to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, student council provides opportunities for student experience in leadership.
